Welcome to Swami Vivekananda

On the 12th day of January 1863, an affluent Bengali Kayastha family of Calcutta was blessed with a divine child, whose name was Vivekanand. The attributes of rationality and religious temperament were instilled by his parents. Since his childhood, he showed an inclination towards spirituality and God realization. His Guru, Ramakrishna, taught him Advaita Vedanta (literally, non-dualism), which refers to the identity of the Self (Atma) and the Whole (Parmatma-Brahma) and that all the religions are same and service to mankind is the real worship of God.
